Little Blue Planet

This is kinda what Earth looks like from space. Yea, I'm still on a blue kick. This handball really stands out against the usual leaves, sticks and branches found near the river. As noted in the past, there are a LOT of balls washed up along the shoreline. Everything from the tiniest one inch plastic ball right up to basketballs.

Madcap Broken Mirror Collage

I took a ride to Bridgeport in search of the Madcap Flea Market Curiosity Shoppe located on Capitol Avenue. I guess they closed a while ago and there was a small insurance company or something in there. Found this great little mirror collage out back where I parked though, so the trip wasn't a total loss.

The Planets

As I wander around the swamp keeping an eye out for some good “found objects”, I find a lot of balls. Every sport is represented here: baseball, basketball, football, golf, handball, hockey (pucks), lacrosse, tennis, wiffle ball and assorted beach balls and other kids balls. I keep some of the more interesting ones and dispose of the others. Some of them take on the appearance of planets that have been roughed up by the passing years.

Don't forget. Earth day is April 22.

A nice little still life

Found this stuff along the Housatonic River and thought it would make a great little still life. I don't have any fancy vases, but I got a lot of plastic.

Earth Day is coming up: April 22. Get out there and do something! Go for a hike. Pick up some trash. Email me some trash.

Make Every Day Earth Day! Your children and grandchildren will thank you for it.
